Review: This is just terrible to do a movie of children books in recent years: Lemon Snicket and Cat in Hat spring to mind, and of course, the Harry Potter films have never been far superior mediocre.But Charlie and the Chocolate Factory suffer from the fact that it must be compared with the version of Gene Wilder, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, which is not only superior to him in every way, but is really a classic film.One and you may be wondering why anyone would dare remake written by Roald Dahl himself . A wonderful film, classic tunes, biting humor, and funny cast.The answer, of course, is money.This film was made for one reason - to wring more money from Warner Brothers ownership. Why remake a film otherwise almost perfect? An insult to moviegoers and humiliation that many children who can not bother to watch the original now that theyve seen things this trash.The, Gene Wilder version is very, very funny. Comedy he still looks edgy today. And somehow, theyve managed to turn it into a film with almost no laughs. Sometimes seemingly was deliberately thrown Depps off.Johnny performance is, I think, the worst. Just a stupendously bad. Then again, he basically nothing to work with, caught between the ordinary, a new dialog unfunny, and struggling to go in the opposite direction by Gene Wilders excellence. I do not envy the task. But do not worry, Johnny got lots and lots of money for his new troubles.The Charlie, Freddie Highmore, is good enough tearjerker Finding Neverland. But here, hes just all wrong. The choice to act as if a smile every time I say something, that I saw used by Denise Richards stars Troopers.On one hand, I wonder how it is to be seen whether it will be a pretty good movie with someone whod never seen the original. But on the other hand, the movie is so disjointed and strange, Im not sure how anyone can follow if they hadnt seen the first film. Oompa Loompa songs, if you can call them that includes the same CG clone sing rhyming lines over and over again. No story progression or melody songs - they are like two-dimensional cardboard cutouts.Add bland, unimaginative mix some morbid change from previous films: Charlie has a father now, his family got a magical unpoor to finally use their own confidence, Willy Wonka and learn - ready for this one - that the family is not a bad thing.Its out great. See the original again instead of that, I pray for you. |
