Review: Who knew that a movie about Jim Jarmusch vampire is not like any other vampire movie. In fact, it would not be good for this class as a vampire movie. Only Lovers Left Alive is a very stylized film and air, the lament of rock n roll and big hippie era. Here we have a few vampires (Swinton & Hiddleston - great and perfectly cast both) an isolated life in a house to live abandoned in Detroit, USA. Hiddleston was a rock n roll artist famous hermit was an old guitar and record collection. They survived by buying blood samples from a corrupt doctor. We also have an old friend of her vampire (John Hurt) live in Tangiers, where pure blood is special. Things have a sudden turn when visit Swinton's mischievous sister (Mia Wasikowska). Only Lovers Left Alive hit drama wrote it. Music is so big and perfectly blend with the atmosphere. Essential for fans Jarmusch and others recommend too! |
